Bremond House, Austin, Texas
Our work at the Eugene Bremond house, built in 1877, was directed towards sympathetically restoring a historic house that had been used as a bed and breakfast for new use as a law office. The Eugene Bremond house is one of a handful of old homes located on the “Bremond Block” — one of Austin’s most historic residential blocks. The block and its buildings are listed on the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places.
Our architectural and interiors work consisted of functional programming as well as designing and overseeing the following activities: the restoration and upgrading of finishes; the upgrading of mechanical systems; the installation of a new roof system; and installing new communication technology systems as required for use by a law office. We also conducted historical research, prepared presentation materials, and made presentations as required for approvals by Austin’s Historic Landmark Commission.
