Clarksville Homes,

Historically Clarksville was an African-American community, but most members were driven out by gentrification. However three historic structures were saved and the owner of the developments wanted to preserve all three structures. The scope of the project included adding two homes on 10th and 11th Streets, fronted by the rehabilitated historic structures. The design of the added homes balances new custom home development with historic preservation. Given the small size of the saved units, this is a process that is rarely embraced in West Austin.
